Statistically, careless driving and dangerous driving is one of the offences that has seen a marked percentage increase in the number of prosecutions being brought. The reason? The increasing presence of Highway Patrol officers on motorways and roads who investigate accidents and monitor our roads.

Careless driving and dangerous driving is more formally known as driving "without due care and attention" or "without reasonable consideration for other road users" is a serious offence. Of course, if you already have points on your licence, you can be at serious risk of totting - particularly given that the court must impose a minimum of 3 but can impose up to 9 points - and so causing you to be subject to a mandatory disqualification of a minimum of 6 months.
